It almost feels appropriate to call Thursday’s 4-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues a cautionary tale of not producing on home ice, but the time for cautionary tales is long gone. The Coyotes are in do-or-die mode now, and they simply can no longer afford their drops in both effort and play at Gila River Arena this season.
The Coyotes (10-4-3 home record) already owned the fewest home wins this season before their game against the Blues. And with the club mired in a crowded Western Conference playoff race, there is no longer room for error at home.
