John Ferguson has been a part of the front offices of some of the most recognizable and successful NHL franchises ever.
His father, John Ferguson Sr., was a legendary enforcer for the Montreal Canadiens in the 1960s who went on to become a coach and personnel executive in the NHL. The apple didn't fall far from the tree, and the younger John Ferguson has been a scout, an assistant general manager of the St. Louis Blues, director of pro scouting for the San Jose Sharks, general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs and most recently, served seven years as the Executive Director of Player Personnel of the Boston Bruins while being assistant GM of the AHL Providence Bruins.
