Speculation and talk about the best Arizona Coyotes trade candidates were certainly out there, and other teams' deals came fast and with regularity Sunday night and into Monday. But the NHL trade deadline passed Monday afternoon with the Coyotes and general manager Bill Armstrong not making any moves.
It was a sure sign that Armstrong, despite the team's three-game losing streak leading up to the deadline, is fine with seeing how the rest of the season plays out with the current group. The Coyotes (19-18-5) are one point out of fourth place and a playoff spot in the West Division and despite losses at Los Angeles and Vegas twice in the most recent three games on their current nine-game road trip, are 6-4 in their last 10.
