The Coyotes may have lacked a competitive work ethic Friday against the Ducks, but they certainly have it in them.
That much was made clear Sunday during an intense, sometimes feisty, practice at Gila River Arena that seemed to capture the frustration of getting steamrolled 5-1 Friday and perhaps the disappointment of a 4-7 start overall.
“I hope they’re frustrated,” coach Dave Tippett said. “You look at our record, we’re not near what we’re capable of.”
In just over half-an-hour, the Coyotes discovered what was missing in their latest setback: they hustled all over the ice, were relentless on pucks and furiously defended each other in tight spaces.
