It had to be reviewed twice, but Christian Fischer’s goal with 2:41 left in overtime was upheld to give the Coyotes a 3-2 victory over the defending Western Conference champion Nashville Predators in their first game of the 2018 calendar year.
Capitalizing on a Predators turnover on their forecheck, Coyotes defenseman Jakob Chychrun picked up the puck and carried it up the ice before putting a backhand shot on Predators goaltender Juuse Saros.
With the puck loose in front off a rebound, Fischer skated to it and tossed it into the net for his third game-winning goal of the season, which leads the team.
