Although both games ended in non-regulation losses, the Coyotes’ effort on Tuesday against the Sharks was a world apart from their performance in San Jose on Saturday.
The Coyotes found themselves in an early two-goal deficit, but rallied back to send the game to overtime and eventually a shootout that the Sharks claimed to give San Jose a 3-2 victory on Tuesday at Gila River Arena.
But there were no slumped shoulders in the Coyotes locker room after the game.
“I thought our team played well and obviously you’re looking to win the game,” Coyotes first-year coach Rick Tocchet said.
