RALEIGH, N.C. – The Coyotes remain winless on their five-game road trip, suffering a 5-4 loss to the Hurricanes Sunday at PNC Arena in Stop No.4.
Hurricanes defenseman Justin Faulk scored on a point shot through traffic on the power play with 17 seconds remaining in the third period to cap off a late rally by Carolina after it watched its 3-2 lead disappear earlier in the period.
Arizona has now dropped four straight in regulation for the first time this season.
The Coyotes found the equalizer 6:34 into the third when defenseman Stefan Elliott, who pinched deep into the offensive zone, used a backhanded shot to beat Ward.
