Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Sweden win world championship

Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson and his Swedish teammates capped a perfect tournament run and won the gold medal in the ice hockey world championship on Sunday in Copenhagen.

Sweden, which won all 10 games they played in the tournament, notched a 3-2 shootout victory over Switzerland on Sunday to win the gold. The United States defeated Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper and Canada to win the bronze medal.

Ekman-Larsson registered an assist and five shots on goal in Sunday's game. He also scored one of Sweden's shootout goals against Switzerland, which was coached by former Coyotes forward Patrick Fischer.
