The injury news on Coyotes All-Star forward Clayton Keller was what the team expected: long-term.
Keller underwent surgery to repair a leg fracture late Wednesday night, after leaving the Coyotes' 5-2 win over the San José Sharks on a stretcher late in the third period. Keller was transported to a local hospital, and after his operation, the team announced he will be out for four to six months.
Head coach André Tourigny said Keller suffered a broken femur, or thighbone. He said he visited with Keller in the hospital Thursday morning and that Keller was in good spirits.
