GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Arizona Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have claimed forward Viktor Tikhonov off waivers from the Chicago Blackhawks.
The 27-year-old native of Riga, Latvia has appeared in 11 games with the Blackhawks this season. The 6-foot-2, 189-pound Tikhonov registered 8-8-16 and 20 penalty minutes (PIM) in 61 games with the Coyotes in 2008-09.
Tikhonov was originally drafted by the Coyotes in the first round (28th overall) in the 2008 Entry Draft.
