Coyotes' Alex Tanguay productive in short time

CHICAGO – Veteran winger Alex Tanguay might have looked like a short-term solution for the Coyotes when they added him as part of the Mikkel Boedker swap with the Avalanche, but maybe the 36-year-old will merit more evaluation once the season ends considering how effective he’s been in his short time with the team.

“I think you look at everything,” coach Dave Tippett said. “You get a good read on everything.”

In 15 games with the Coyotes since the Feb. 29 trade, Tanguay has accumulated four goals and nine assists for 13 points. Through that span, the team went 6-2-1 when he tallied a point.
