Coyotes acquire scoring winger Phil Kessel from Penguins in blockbuster deal

Everyone in the hockey universe was aware of the Coyotes' glaring weakness in the scoring department, and team President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka summed it up best after a blockbuster trade on Saturday.

"I think you need to consistently outplay the other team to win," Chayka said, "but ultimately there's a scoreboard out there that counts the number of times the black puck goes over the line."

The Coyotes acquired a player who has put the black puck over the line with about as much consistency as anyone in the NHL over the past six seasons — Phil Kessel.
