The Coyotes announced Thursday that the team traded winger Jordan Martinook to the Carolina Hurricanes for Marcus Kruger, a 27-year-old center.
The club also receives a third-round pick in the June 22-23 NHL draft from Carolina, while the Hurricanes receive a 2018 fourth-round pick from the Coyotes.
Kruger, waived by Carolina on Feb. 8, split time with the Hurricanes and the team's AHL affiliate in Charlotte, N.C. this season. He registered six points in 48 NHL games in 2018.
"We're very pleased to add Marcus to the Coyotes," Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka said in a statement.
