Conor Garland finished the NHL regular season with two goals and five assists in the final four games after returning from injury. He'd been out about two weeks with injury before that, so the Coyotes forward felt fresh going into Riga, Latvia, for the IIHF World Championship, and it has showed.
Garland got his first goal in international play in the USA's 2-1 win over Norway on Saturday, giving him five points in five games after the four assists he's recorded.
The Americans are 4-1-0 in Latvia and with two games left in group play, look headed to the quarterfinals next week.
