Cleared for contact, Jakob Chychrun could return to Arizona Coyotes after homestand

The Coyotes have so far weathered the storm during the early-season absences of center Alex Galchenyuk and defenseman Jakob Chychrun.

Galchenyuk returned to the Coyotes’ lineup on Tuesday in Columbus after missing the team’s first seven games of the season and centered a line with Lawson Crouse and Clayton Keller. Now, it appears that Chychrun is also nearing a return to action.

According to Coyotes President of Hockey Operations and General Manager John Chayka, Chychrun has been cleared for contact during his on-ice rehab sessions.

Chayka has said that Chychrun, who underwent knee surgery in the offseason, would likely need about two weeks of full contact drills before returning to game action.
