The Arizona Coyotes ended its first season at Mullett Arena in the same fashion it began: in overtime.
Thursday’s season finale had a dismal start, but ended with the Coyotes catching the Vancouver Canucks and eventually succumbing to Conor Garland’s hat trick in a 5-4 overtime loss.
“I think it’s a good reflection of our season, we never quit, we play for each other, we play for our fans. We fought, we came from behind, we showed a lot of character,” head coach Andre Tourigny said.
Clayton Keller finished his season sharing the team’s single-season points record of 86 points with Keith Tkachuk (1996-97).
