Arizona Sports is reporting that Shane Doan is retiring after 21 years in the NHL.
Drafted in 1995 by the Winnipeg Jets, Shane Doan was the last active player of the original Jets franchise. Doan played 1540 games with the same franchise, putting him in 4th, behind Alex Delvecchio of the Detroit Red Wings.
Shane Doan owns the scoring records for goals, assists, points (402-570-972) for the Winnipeg Jets/Phoenix Coyotes/Arizona Coyotes franchise.
Shane Doan parted ways with the Coyotes in an non-mutual parting in June of this year when he was informed he would not be coming back to the team.
