LOS ANGELES – The Coyotes are inching closer to this season’s expiration date, but they seemed to get a taste of what it’s like to be fighting for a playoff spot Tuesday during their 3-2 shootout rally at Staples Center over a desperate Kings team still jostling for positioning.
Defenseman Anthony DeAngelo scored in the 11th round of the shootout with a forehand shot, settling a tight tilt that opened up in the third amid back-and-forth action.
The Coyotes tied it at 1 at 5:49 on a slick wrist shot by winger Max Domi after he pulled up in the slot.
