With Mikkel Boedker off to the Colorado Avalanche, it appeared the Arizona Coyotes were done for the day. But at the last moment, the Coyotes made one last minor league deal.
Multiple reports suggest that AHL center Dustin Jeffrey was traded by the Coyotes to the Penguins in exchange for AHL center Matia Marcantuoni and possible other considerations (pending confirmation).
Jeffrey recorded a goal and an assist in seven NHL games this season after signing a two-way contract this past summer. At the AHL level however, Jeffrey was Springfield's points leader, with 13 goals and 33 assists.
