The Arizona Coyotes paid a big price again for its penalties with the Buffalo Sabres converting two of its five power play opportunities in Saturday's 5-2 loss at Mullett Arena.
"There is a learning curve there in the sense of what's leading to our penalties and their goals. I think that's stuff that we need to stay away from," Coyotes head coach André Tourigny said. "On our side, there's not one of them that we should have seen. There's not one of them where it was necessary."
Special teams played an instrumental role with the Sabres boasting the second-best power play unit in the NHL and the Coyotes steadily improving its penalty kill unit.
