Arizona Coyotes set to open season against San Jose Sharks with limited capacity of fans

The Arizona Coyotes were busy on Monday. They announced a date for their first game of the recently made official NHL season, and signed a new player, former Chicago Blackhawks forward Drake Caggiula.

The season opener and home opener is January 14 against the San Jose Sharks, which is of interest because the Sharks are set to start their season operating out of Scottsdale due to COVID-19-related restrictions in the Bay Area.

Coyotes president and CEO Xavier Gutierrez announced the game date and opponent on a video conference call Monday afternoon. He added that fans will be allowed inside Gila River Arena for home games, but only a few.
