The Arizona Coyotes chased a wildcard spot all the way up to the final week of the season, a stark contrast to this time last year.
While Rick Tocchet‘s team weren’t able to reach the postseason for a seventh-consecutive season, the positivity emanating from the team should give fans plenty of hope for 2019/20.
The 2017/18 season saw the team finish dead-last in the Western Conference, sporting a 29-41-2 record with just 70 points.
Somehow, Tocchet was able to take largely the same group and turn them into a legitimate playoff contender, ending the 2018/19 season with a 39-35-8 record – good for 86 points.
