According to Finnish club Ilves, Arizona Coyotes prospect Matias Maccelli will continue his development on loan in his home country until further notice.
Maccelli, selected by the Coyotes in the fourth round (98th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft, had recently completed an impressive rookie season in the Finnish SM-Liiga, the highest level of hockey in the country.
In 43 regular-season games, Maccelli scored 13 goals and registered a total of 30 points - an excellent performance from the 19-year-old left winger.
His strong performances saw him named Rookie of the Year and earn a spot on Finland’s World Junior Championships roster - a tournament in which he scored two goals and had five total points in seven games.
