Arizona Coyotes goalie Darcy Kuemper, who left Monday night's game early in the third period of the Coyotes' 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche, is headed back to Arizona to have his injury further evaluated.
Coyotes head coach Rick Tocchet said a timetable for how much time Kuemper will miss with a lower body injury is expected either later Tuesday or Wednesday.
Kuemper was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday and the Coyotes elevated AHL Tucson goalie Ivan Prosvetov to the taxi squad.
Kuemper motioned to an official during play soon after some side-to-side movements in the crease.
