The Arizona Coyotes' original "Kachina" design was voted as the greatest logo in Arizona sports history, the result of a 32-team tournament that lasted more than a month.
The Coyotes defeated Arizona State's "Sparky" logo in the final matchup on Tuesday. The Coyotes received 57 percent of the vote, its closest result throughout the tournament.
More than 13,000 votes were cast throughout the tournament, which was held on Twitter.
The Coyotes' original logo was revealed upon the team's arrival in Phoenix prior to the 1996-97 season and served as a major departure from the former Winnipeg Jets' traditional red and white color scheme.
