He took seven shifts in the first, skating 4:36, just five in the second period amid 3:06 of ice time and then only four turns in the third for a 2:47 total.
Overall, McGinn logged 10:29 – a game-low among the Coyotes and the Sharks in an eventual 4-1 loss for Arizona.
“There’s some other guys who have played well,” coach Dave Tippett said. “You get chasing a game, you’re just trying to find lightning in a bottle somewhere a little bit.
