Merrick Madsen knows he’s in for a dogfight once Coyotes training camp comes around. But, for now, he’s in a comfortable place as he begins his sixth developmental camp.
It’s not common for young players to have attended as many camps as Madsen has. But the recent Harvard graduate knows this year is different, having exhausted his college eligibility.
“He gets a sense of what the organization is like (at these camps),” Coyotes goalie developmental coach Corey Schwab said. “Everybody gets to see him but during the season (we) are not allowed to go out onto the ice with him due to NCAA rules.
