CALGARY, Alberta – An opportunistic offense combined with air-tight goaltending sparked one of the Coyotes’ most convincing wins to date, a 5-0 rout of the Flames Monday at Scotiabank Saddledome that improved the team to 6-2-1 in its past nine games.
Goalie Mike Smith posted 36 saves for his second shutout of the season and 21st with the Coyotes to tie Nikolai Khabibulin and Ilya Bryzgalov for the most in franchise history.
Center Christian Dvorak scored twice and added an assist with 11 players tallying at least a point and three different lines chipping in a goal.
