Coyotes defenseman Aaron Ness has tested negative for the new coronavirus, his agent announced Monday.
Ness had been feeling ill prior to his reassignment to the Coyotes' AHL affiliate in Tucson on Wednesday.
Given the climate, there were rumors swirling about the nature of Ness' illness, but his agent, Neil Sheehy, cleared that up with a concise tweet on Monday.
As of early Monday, there had not been any confirmation of any NHL players testing positive for COVID-19. It is unclear how many players have been tested.
Ness, 29, has appeared in 24 games with the Coyotes this season and has registered one assist.
