The Arizona Coyotes couldn't stop the Vegas Golden Knights' lethal offense, and despite Phil Kessel's fourth goal in four games and the second in two nights for Nick Schmaltz, fell 5-2 at T-Mobile Arena Wednesday night.
The Golden Knights scored twice on their first three shots of the game. Shea Theodore's one-timer from the point eluded Kuemper, then Alex Pietrangelo scored a little over three minutes later at 8:33 of the first period.
Kuemper didn't appear to see Pietrangelo's shot as it pinged the goalpost and got past him.
The Golden Knights took a 3-0 lead in the second period on Mark Stone's breakaway goal off a Coyotes' turnover.
