Christian Fischer is a little upset he can’t indulge his cravings for a midnight snack, but he knows it’s a small sacrifice for what he hopes will be a significant step forward this season.
Fischer came to the Valley three weeks before the start of training camp, but his offseason work started much earlier than that. The 21-year-old has spent the entire summer trying to improve upon the deficiencies in his game.
Fischer spent time with new skating coach Lars Hepso this summer working on a myriad of situations. He also worked with team trainer JP Major in fitness training, and Fischer is visibly leaner and faster this preseason as a result.
