Darcy Kuemper was resurgent, Jakob Chychrun was excellent again, but the Coyotes couldn't pull down both points. Richard Morin, azcentral sports
The Coyotes earned a point but couldn't finish off the Vegas Golden Knights in a 2-1 shootout loss on Friday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The Golden Knights scored first when forward Alex Tuch redirected a shot past Coyotes goaltender Darcy Kuemper for a power-play goal at 7:01 of the second period.
The Coyotes would respond, however, before the period was out. The Coyotes won a pivotal face-off in the neutral zone and the puck found its way to Jakob Chychrun, who entered the offensive zone with speed and rifled one over Golden Knights goaltender Malcolm Subban to even the score as play moved to the second period.
