Both players were sent to the Coyotes’ affiliates and played a role in the team’s 3-2 victory over the San Diego Gulls on Friday night, with Garland registering two assists in his first competitive game of the season.
Garland’s assignment should come as no real surprise, with the 2015 fifth-round pick (123rd overall) having played a regular role with the AHL team over the past two seasons.
In 110 regular season games with the Roadrunners, Garland has 41 total points – 13 goals and 28 assists.
Dauphin, who also played in the Roadrunners’ opening night win over the Gulls, has also been assigned to the team after clearing waivers.
