For three days, Coyotes winger Anthony Duclair didn’t think about hockey.
The NHL sophomore rode go-karts, went to Topgolf and walked around the Scottsdale Quarter and Scottsdale Fashion Square with his mom, Dominique, and 14-year-old brother Christopher.
“I just enjoyed my time with my family,” Duclair said.
When he plugged back into reality, the 21-year-old started to contribute like he’d rarely done earlier in the season.
He put the puck in the net.
And that reprieve with his family helped Duclair refocus, highlighting just how important a player’s mental approach can be when combating adversity.
