The Arizona Coyotes announced their 23-man season-opening roster and six-man taxi squad on Wednesday, a day before their scheduled regular-season opener against the San Jose Sharks at Gila River Arena.
The team includes returning forwards Nick Schmaltz, Clayton Keller, Christian Dvorak, Barrett Hayton, Christian Fischer, Lawson Crouse, Phil Kessel and last season's goals leader, Conor Garland. New forwards on the team are John Hayden, Derick Brassard, Tyler Pitlick, Johan Larsson and Drake Caggiula.
Much of the defensemen group from last season is back, led by captain Oliver Ekman-Larsson and including Jason Demers, Niklas Hjalmarsson, Jakob Chychrun, Alex Goligoski and Jordan Oesterle.
