Arizona Coyotes add picks in trades, load up on defensemen

Like they did Friday, the Coyotes started Saturday with a trade – but this one reorganized their draft order rather than their roster.

Arizona moved the 35th pick to Philadelphia in exchange for Nos. 44, 75 and 108, a deal that gave them two more picks – including a fourth-rounder, which they didn't previously have.

With No. 44, the Coyotes added defenseman Filip Westerlund.

"Really amazing," he said. "Speechless. Unbelievable."

At 5 feet, 11 inches and 174 pounds, the 18-year-old was the 15th-ranked European skater by NHL Central Scouting and spent last season playing in his native Sweden.
