Brandon Saad rumbled down the left-wing boards, puck on his stick.
Recipient of a pass from Patrick Kane in the defensive zone, Saad charged through the neutral zone with rookie Kirby Dach driving the middle of the ice. Coyotes defenders Kyle Capobianco and Niklas Hjalmarsson successfully took away Saad's passing option.
The option for Saad was to shoot from the left face-off dot. There was no screen in front of Coyotes goaltender Antti Raanta, so Saad was going to have to beat the goaltender cleanly.
And he did, rifling a shot over Raanta's right shoulder en route to a 3-2 shootout win for the Chicago Blackhawks over the Coyotes on Saturday at Gila River Arena.
