The Tucson Roadrunners (23-11-3-1) continued through their mid-season madness with another 4-0 win over the Texas Stars (21-16-3-2) on Wednesday night. The win puts the Roadrunners on a three-game winning streak, and holding on as the third-best team in the AHL (points percentage).
“I thought we got out to a pretty good start,” Roadrunners coach Jay Varady said. “We managed pucks pretty well for the first period and got away away from it for a little bit, but it was enough to hang on.”
Tucson came right out of the gates with plenty of simple chances. Although they left the ice after the first period with only 9 shots on net, they had the 3-0 lead.
