Boko Imama isn't exactly sure who came up with the idea to make T-shirts bearing the heartfelt message against racism he shared in a post on Twitter last month. But when he was approached with the idea, he was all for it.
The Tucson Roadrunners forward was emotional at seeing his teammates in those shirts last Saturday, then had the chance to put one on himself prior to playing in last Sunday's American Hockey League home game against the Henderson Silver Knights.
The Roadrunners wanted to show support for Imama, an assistant captain in his fifth AHL season and first in Tucson.
