The Cardinals’ recent renovation of their Tempe headquarters did not include a pantheon to honor the greatest quarterbacks in their history.
But the addition wouldn’t have added much to the cost. Not to disparage the gentlemen who have called signals for the team since it was founded in 1898, but not many were better-than-average football players.
The ones who were include Kurt Warner, Neil Lomax, Jim Hart and Charley Johnson. Jake Plummer is probably on the cusp because he helped the Cardinals win a playoff game for the first time since 1947.
That’s not many names considering the Cardinals are the oldest professional football franchise still in existence.
