Cardinals and Cowboys games have always been intense over the years and the fan bases really don't particularly care for each other. Heading into week 9, both teams were in playoff position and battling for seeding in the NFC. Dallas starting QB Tony Romo was sidelined with fractures of two small bones in the back, thus putting backup QB Brandon Weeden into the starting role.
Palmer stayed perfect as the starter for Arizona in 2014 by throwing for three touchdowns, while Weeden couldn't get the Cowboys into the end zone until the game was out of reach in the Cardinals' 28-17 victory at AT&T Stadium.
