It's easy to go overlooked when you play for Winston-Salem State like rookie quarterback Phillip Sims did. After all, the Rams play in Division II and have had just one player drafted since 1991. The 22-year-old Sims was not that one player.
But Sims, who earned a contract with the Cardinals by impressing in rookie minicamp a few weeks ago, can't complain that he didn't draw more attention coming out of college. For one, he split time as a senior at a school where the spotlight is small enough.
Also, he had plenty of chances on a bigger stage before.
