After essentially “red-shirting” his rookie year, with only one recorded tackle, defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche is looking to have a breakout season for the Cardinals defense. The unit ranked 2nd in the NFL overall in total defense in 2016, but team will need him to be a force in the middle. By doing so, he will lay all questions about his ability to adapt to the NFL to rest.
Early reports out of minicamp and OTAs have given rave reviews about Nkemdiche’s focus and workman-like attitude. As reported by NBC’s Pro Football Talk, D-line coach Brentson Buckner has “been happy with him” so far, stating, “You see the natural ability take over.
