Robert Nkemdiche missed another game last Sunday. Maybe you didn’t notice, because it’s happened so often since the Cardinals drafted the defensive tackle in the first round in 2016.
Nkemdiche is almost as likely to sit as he is to play. Of the 41 games the Cardinals have played the past three seasons, Nkemdiche’s participated in 24.
This time, it was a calf injury that kept Nkemdiche out. Earlier in his career, it was ankle injuries that kept him on the sideline.
The Cardinals know how to treat those. Much harder to address is Nkemdiche’s apparent indifference to becoming a good, reliable football player.
