It’s been seven years since the Cardinals and their fans have been antsy this late January, and like 2010, their nervousness has nothing to do with the playoffs.
In 2010, quarterback Kurt Warner caused the anxiety as he contemplated retirement, confirming it on the 29th.
This January, the focus is on receiver Larry Fitzgerald and quarterback Carson Palmer, who are deciding between stepping away from football and making another attempt, probably their last, at their first Super Bowl rings.
Of the two, Fitzgerald seems closer to calling it a career. Last week, Palmer texted Dan Bickley of azcentral sports that “I’d like to play if my body responds the way I hope.
