Cardinals starting right tackle Bobby Massie is appealing the NFL’s decision to suspend him for three games for violating the league’s substance abuse policy, according to an NFL source.
If suspended, Massie will be able to continue to practice with the team through the preseason but would miss games against the Saints, Bears and 49ers.
Massie’s alleged violation involves alcohol, according to the source. Tempe Police charged Massie with driving under the influence on Jan. 31, the day before the Super Bowl was played in Glendale.
He was transported from the Cardinals facility in Tempe to Tempe City Jail, according to police records.
