Report: Cardinals' Jared Veldheer needs triceps surgery

Cardinals left tackle Jared Veldheer needs surgery to repair a partially torn triceps tendon in his right arm, according to a report by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Veldheer left Sunday’s game against the Panthers with an arm injury and was seen afterward with a heavy wrap on his right arm. He suffered a similar injury in 2013 while with the Raiders and missed 10 weeks.

Surgery this time would seem to indicate he could be lost for the rest of the season. John Wetzel, who filled in for Veldheer on Sunday, figures to be the leading candidate to take over at left tackle.
