The Cardinals used a stifling defense and four field goals from Phil Dawson to beat the Titans, 12-7, Sunday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
The Cardinals (6-7) needed a superlative defensive effort because it’s offense was shut down for most of the afternoon. Quarterback Blaine Gabbert was sacked seven times, and when he did have time, he missed open receivers.
Titans quarterback Marcus Mariota wasn’t any better, and the only touchdown Tennessee (8-5) scored was when on a possession when they started at the 50.
The Cardinals intercepted two of Mariota’s passes and limited the Titans to 65 yards rushing, nearly half their average.
