The emergence of David Johnson and the return of veteran Chris Johnson have cast a tall shadow over Andre Ellington, the guy who used to be featured in the Cardinals’ backfield.
It’s basically reduced him to a third-down running back and a specialist on gadget plays.
And you know what? Ellington is perfectly happy with his new role. Not that he has much of a choice in the matter, but the fourth-year pro said it’s not only the best decision for the team, it’s also a way to make him even more effective. And it probably will help prolong his career, too.
