Defensive backs Kam'ron Johnson and Byron Murphy remained close friends after their high school football careers ended at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale.
Johnson, a year older, went on to Northern Arizona. Murphy ended up at Washington.
Now they're roommates — taking vastly different pro football paths — and pulling for each other.
Johnson had an interception in his Indoor Football League debut last week in Cedar Rapids and became a part of Rattlers history with the first shutout since the franchise began playing in 1992.
